WPT’S Presence Expands to India

This coming September, India television viewers will be introduced to the WPT.

Poker Fundraiser for Cerebral Palsy at LA’s Hollywood Casino

Celebrity filled Charity Poker Tournament at Hollywood Park Casino Sunday, August 3rd.

In the fight against cerebral palsy, famed Hollywood Park Casino in Inglewood, California will host along with The One Step Closer Foundation (OSCF), a charity poker event August 3rd .  The tournament will feature No-Limit Hold Em with a $500 buy-in with $100 re-buys for the first ninety minutes. Each player will begin with $2,500 in chips and will receive $1,000 in chips for any re-buys. The prize pool will comprise of 50% of the take to the winning players with the other half being donated to OSCF.

WSOP Academy Coming To Los Angeles

The Bicycle Casino to Host the Next WSOP Academy

The World Series of Poker Academy will soon be setting up shop at The Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles. Poker players from sunny SoCal will be able to take the poker course September 6th through 7th.

2008 WSOP Bracelet winner Kenny Tran who hails from LA will be among the list of poker pro instructors which include Alex Outhred and Annie Duke and Ali Nejad. They will be sharing their extensive knowledge and teaching strategies of No Limit Hold Em.  Poker-tells expert and retired FBI Special Agent, Joe Navarro will provide his expertise.  Navarro has written more than fifteen journal articles and three books on the subject of deciphering the “hidden tells” of poker.

The cost of the course is $1,499 and in addition to No Limit Hold Em strategies being taught, the course will also include workshops, handbooks and hand demonstrations.  At the end of the seminar, players will play in a tournament for the chance to win a $5K Seat to a World Series of Poker Circuit Event of their choice.
